THEME CENTRE VILLA LUCÍA
Villa Lucía is a Theme Centre designed to spread wine culture. Located in Laguardia, in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, it occupies what was the former recreational estate of the fabulist Samaniego. Its 10,000 m² are home to a botanical garden containing shrubs and indigenous and foreign species, natural hideaways with commemorative sculptures, relaxing waterfalls, artisan machinery dated from time immemorial, marquees and terraces, among others. The centre occupies an area of 2,550 m², spread over several floors, and recreates the popular architecture of the wineries and buildings in the area. It is also equipped with the latest technological advances in terms of services and layout.
There are numerous rooms and exclusive spaces for meetings, conferences, courses and any other social event, as well as a restaurant for banquets, weddings and all nature of events as well as a grill restaurant open to the general public, where local products sourced directly from the area are on offer. The Centre is home to numerous professional venues, events and group activities for professional development as well as the numerous recreational activities that are carried out involving wine culture.
To make the most of your stay at Rioja Alavesa, the Villa Lucía Theme Centre also offers you the possibility of different wine tourism activities. Activities such as: Fun food and wine experiences, Grape Tasting, The secrets of Patxaran with a barbecue, Vineyard experiences, Guided tour and tasting and the Beginner's tasting course. The museum is undoubtedly the jewel in the crown of the Centre, a place where the traditional and technology are combined to offer visitors a unique experience. Inside the museum, wine history and rituals are presented in a very enjoyable and interactive way, using techniques such as: audiovisual effects, virtual tastings of aromas, models, didactic panels, holograms, etc.
A new room was incorporated in 2011 where the 4D Experience "In the Land of Dreams" is shown. An innovative 4D production that has received numerous international awards at festivals of cinema, tourism and new technologies (Hollywood, New York, Berlin, Vienna ...) and that will allow you to discover the corners of Rioja Alavesa hand in hand with its friendly protagonists, the "Vinfos" or wine.
