Cosme Palacio

In 1894 Don Cosme Palacio founded the centenarian winery Bodegas Palacio in Laguardia / Biasteri, becoming one of the most prestigious wineries of the Rioja D.O. Towards the end of the 1980s, it was at the forefront of the renovation process known as "New Riojas", based on the strict selection of vineyards and grapes; long, slow maceration and the use of new French oak barrels.

Fruit of that careful preparation process, we have the brands, Cosme Palacio, Glorioso and Bodegas Palacio Reserva Especial. Each year, these wines are distinguished with a number of awards at national and international events; Every year, these wines are honoured by numerous awards in both national and international competitions. One example is the Gold Medal obtained by Cosme Palacio Crianza 2006 in the World Competition in Brussels. The complex also includes the Hotel and Restaurant Cosme Palacio, located in the Old Bodega, a building dating from the second half of the 19th century and restored in 1990 for use and enjoyment by tourists who are visiting the area (see Hotel and Restaurant Cosme Palacio in Laguardia / Biasteri).
