The Rioja Alavesa Wine Route invites you to enjoy, a plethora of activities connected to the exciting world of wine throughout the entire year. The Rioja Alavesa has become a must for travel enthusiasts, connoisseurs, professionals and anyone who wants to take part in an exciting experience involving wine, gastronomy and exceptional scenery. Thanks to the support of the Alava and Basque authorities, the Rioja Alavesa has become a renowned tourism destination worldwide. A route offering, in addition to wineries, many other attractions to surprise visitors to the region, including landscapes of endless vineyards dotted with medieval villages, festivals that reflect the lifestyle of the people, bespoke tours and attractive accommodation, in inns, hotels or rural establishments overflowing with charm.
More than 140 partners have become part of this collective project, including different types of wineries, museums, places to stay, restaurants, companies offering activities and wine merchants, with the aim of improving the visitor experience. Welcoming places, full of attractions, places to stay and enjoy the local wines and cuisine. This collaboration has become the flagship project in the Alavesa region offering ever increasing comprehensive, personalized services and complete enthusiasm for a job well done, where you can enjoy a wide range of wineries and their products not forgetting cuisine that is true to its roots, with no shortage of legumes, vegetables and market garden produce from the Alavesa region, along with meats, cold cuts and desserts in keeping with traditional recipes.
In Rioja Alavesa we have adopted, the criteria of the quality charter issued by the Spanish Association of Wine Cities (ACEVIN) and the Ministry of Tourism and those defined by Basquetour in Euskadi Gastronomika. We have adhered to the strict requirements established by these organizations. Likewise, we have also been part of the select Product Club "Wine Routes of Spain" as a CERTIFIED route since January 2006.
